Kate Tomlinson, PhD, BCTMB, CMT
Although certified in a variety of massage modalities, I have chosen to specialize in therapeutic relaxation massage. As a stress reduction method, relaxation massage is already therapeutic. Deep tissue, trigger point, PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), skin rolling, and/or oscillation can be incorporated into a relaxation massage, depending upon your needs.
I have over 30 years of combined experience in healthcare, including 17 years of hands-on massage therapy, 10 years as a discharge planner in acute, skilled, and in-patient rehab care units with UPMC-Horizon (a rural campus of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), and 7+ years as an educator and customer service coach with the Training & Staff Development Dept @ UPMC Horizon.
The following is a list of my certifications, education and massage training:
- California State certification through CAMTC (Cert. #73063);
- Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork through NCBTMB since 2010 (Cert #588337-10);
- Certified Professional member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP Cert #922317) since 2007;
- Graduate of The Master Massage Therapist program @ The California Healing Arts College;
